iTunes Single of the Week!
Hi Folks, I'm very happy to report that 'Dangerous' has been selected as Single of the Week at iTunes! That means from now until next Tuesday, it's FREE, and furthermore, 'First of the Last to Know' is now on-sale for a limited time at $7.99! Please spread the word if you know anyone who might like to have a listen. Nothing sounds better than free! In other news, tickets for the big Toronto show at the Music Gallery will be going on-sale on August 1st! The show sold-out last time so please check back soon if you would like to come. If you've never been to the Music Gallery, it's a pretty special place, can't wait to play there again! Finally, I have posted the first few shows of my upcoming Canadian Fall Tour! There will be MANY more to come so please check back soon. Also, if you notice holes in the schedule and would like to book a house concert, recommend a venue, help put on a show in your town, whatever/wherever, please drop me a line at peter<at>peterkatz.com and we'll see what we can do! Life is full of highs and lows. July has definitely been a serious high. Thanks and take care, Peter July 21, 2010
Eight of Canada's hottest emerging artists to perform (Edmonton, AB) July 19, 2010 - The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) announced the artists chosen to participate in the New Artist Showcase during Country Music Week 2010 (Sept 8-12) in Edmonton, Alberta. They include: Lindsay Broughton, Chad Brownlee, Leah Daniels, The Keats, Dawson Reigns, Six West, Tenille and Wyatt. "We are so pleased to announce the Canadian country class of 2010," said Chair of the CCMA Board of Directors, Jackie Rae Greening. "Edmonton's own Corb Lund created a huge buzz at the New Artist Showcase in 2004, a buzz which continues to grow to this day. I can't wait to see who will make an impact at this year's showcase and on the future Canadian country music scene." All eight of the artists were selected through a submission process and a two-tiered jury process composed of industry members from across Canada. The showcase will take place Thursday, September 9 at 9:30 PM at the Shaw Conference Centre (Hall D) and will be hosted by the 2009 CCMA Rising Star Award winner and star of CMT's The Tara Diaries, Tara Oram. A secret panel will also be on site adjudicating the performances and the best in show will receive the 2010 New Artist Showcase Award. Tickets are available online at www.countrymusicedmonton.com. I am pleased to announce a return to my roots. Every Sunday come dance your face off as The Troubadours and I burn the candle from both ends. Classic JFSO songs will be played for the first time in 10 years, and of course the new album Troubadour...come, get hopped up, make some bad choices and start your work week with a feeling of satisfied guilt.
